She stays overnight almost each and every night. She's a trooper!!

The hospital provides all of that stuff plus a partridge in a pear tree :)
The cot in the video is mine :) And If you couldn't tell, Ronnie was joking - we bring that whole table with the microwave, coffee maker, etc, and the flat screen and playstation :)
we have plenty in common, i bring an extra tv and my PS3 for hospitals stays as well!!!

Sure makes the time go by faster!!!
I love that each patient has their own blood pressure cuff. Hospitals take every effort (or at least they say they do) to prevent infection of things like MRSA and then everyone uses the same BP CUFF. I don't think so! While I am not a CF'er I have way more hospital experience than the average bear and I demand a disposable BP CUFF.

How are you feeling today, Ronnie? And you Mandi?

Love the pictures of Peanut! Were those from Labor Day scare (hospital sure does provide EVERYTHING) or did you bring those from home?

The view isn't too bad either.

This hospital does a decent job of cross-confection control.

I'm doing well and Mandi is feeling much better!! We brought those pictures of Peanut from home :)
I have to post a similar video next time I'm in hospital. You'll be shocked! The rooms are a lot smaller, and all we have is a bed, TV, toilet and sink. There's two showers for the CF patients to use. If I ever bring food in it's always kept in the fridge on the main ward, with my name written all over it. I have to use the kettle and microwave in there too. I bring my Macbook with me, but anytime I leave the room I have to put it in the cupboard or hide it in case it gets stolen, no security at all :(

They are cracking down on patients using any "community" items like the water/ice machine, fridge and microwave. Therefore, I bring some of my own :)
I would think with stays as long as you endure and the risk of cross contamination they need to be more flexible on what is in the room and what you can bring with you from home? Are you on a medical floor? Or an isolation floor? Before we knew what was actually wrong with my brother (they thought he had TB which was scary at that point but now we wish that is what he had) they placed him in an isolation room on an infectious disease floor. For our protection we had to wear a mask and when he had to leave the room (for tests that could not be done in the room only) he had to wear a mask too. At that point we had all already been exposed so we didn't really wear the masks. Not too mention if he had tested positive for TB the doctor had already told us that the entire immediate family would have to be treated so what was the point (Mandi knows the unfortunate diagnosis, as I would rather not say here).

How much longer do you anticipate being stuck there?

Prayers for a quiet weekend for you, Mandi and Peanut!
Yeah, but it could potentially be a fire hazard or a barrier for emergency medical personnel if there is too much in the room. I have worked with the staff on what is acceptable and what is not.

I'm on a medical floor but have iso precautions because of the MRSA in my sputum.

I'm hoping I'll be out next week, but I'm not going to rush it :)
I certainly wouldn't rush it, either. While there's never a perfect time to be in "The Hole," in your case, the timing was perfect. Hopefully you are having a quiet, yet productive (quite the oxymoron), weekend! Take care!
Hey Ronnie,
Do they provide you with the microwave or do you bring your own. Also do you have a mini portable fridge they provide you with?

They provide nothing but the TV & DVD player on the wall and the exercise bike.
Nice. The Keurig is a must have in the Hole. I have 2 Keurigs one espically for the Hole. Have you tried the Dunken K-Cups yet?

Not yet, but it's certainly on the list! Good?
Just picked up some yesterday. There is only 1 DD that is carrying them. But they are pretty good
only one DD in Albuquerque
Only one DD!?!?!?!? That's ridiculous!!!!
