Thankful Thursday: Mandi & Mckenna

It's thankful Thursday time! We all have so much to be thankful for and we love to take this opportunity just to write down each and everything that comes to mind. Please take this time to share with us what you're thankful for as well. If you have a blog expressing your thankfulness, please share the link! Without further ado, here's what we're thankful for:

Mandi's List:
I'm thankful for our sweet baby Mckenna. God has truly blessed us with the perfect baby girl for our family. I am so in love with her already...I can't wait for the years to come and to watch her grow!

I'm thankful for my fantastic husband. I always knew Ronnie would be a great daddy...but he has far surpassed my expectations. He is truly a natural. What's funny is that I thought I'd be the one leading us into the parenting realm, helping him learn the ropes. But man was I wrong. I look to him, I lean on him. He's the pro and I'm just following his lead. I can tell she's going to be a daddy's girl already...no one can calm her like he can.

Ronnie's List:

I'm thankful for a strong woman for a wife. Mandi was a total champ this weekend and I couldn't be more proud of her. She planned on going unmedicated during labor since finding out we were pregnant, but it's one thing to say you want to do it, and actually do it when the rubber meets the road. She never even questioned it and never doubted for a second that she could go through with it. I can't imagine the pain she must have felt while giving birth early Monday morning, but I do know this, it was beautiful.

I'm so thankful for the new addition to our family. Mckenna Day Sharpe was born Monday morning at 12:44am and weighed in at 6lbs 2 oz. She is a tiny little girl and really took her nickname "peanut" to heart. Mandi and I are really looking forward to traveling this parenting road together, and both agree, that we wouldn't want to travel that road with any other little girl in the world.
I'm thankful for the massive amounts of love and support shown to us throughout this entire process. I'm talking from the IVF process, to getting pregnant, to having our daughter. The emails, comments, notes, etc are so appreciated from you all and truly make us feel loved. The CF community is a very special one and I'm extremely proud and humbled to be a part of it.

So, what are you thankful for today?

Thank you Diane! I'll pass this along to Mandi and Mckenna :)
My husband I were talking about you guys tonight. So thrilled for your family! We are excited for our little one to be a mama someday in the long away future! =0 It is encouraging to see you doing life well...and kicking CF booty.

The other reason that we were talking about you guys is we are awaiting results for a possible (first stay) in the hospital this next week. Naturally, we are both concerned how to manage it all (other kiddos at home, severe food allergies making hospital food near impossible act). For the first time since Rachel was born, I don't feel the terror of the hospital. Of course, we pray that God chooses to work without the need to go to the hospital...but it is you and your perspective on the hospital that has really been used by God to see the hospital as a tool in her health. Thank you. Even if.... we are still desperately praying that we can be well AND stay at home. =) God has used you to ease my anxious heart and I am thankful for that.

Also, tell Mandi, way to go! There is nothing as awesome or empowering as an unmedicated birth. IT ROCKS! Not to mention that you feel so much better (the days after without the med's in the system). I was 3 for 3 and wouldn't trade it for the world! Mandi showed her true grit. You should be proud of her ;).

Blessings to you all,
Tiffany

Wow, what a nice comment. I'm so glad that something I said on here impacted you and your family in that way. Sounds like you have the right attitude towards hospital stays and for that, for the sake of your daughter, I am grateful!

I am SO proud of my wife...I tell her that everyday :)

Thankful for the joys of parenting children who grow up to be wonderful human beings. Thankful for the healthy baby you've been waiting for. Praying that through the mixture of fun, trouble, satisfaction, frustration, and all the other contradictory qualities of rearing a child you find the deepest emotional and spiritual rewards God has waiting for you.
