Altered Couch to 5k Running Program

Since it's been so long that I have ran consistently, I decided to get back to a running program that slowly introduces mileage. This is adapted from the Couch to 5k program as it is a little longer in length with a more gradual increase in time and therefore distance. It can be altered further, and if you find that your alterations work much better for you, please let me know what they are!!
Enjoy!!

I think I might try this...I've never ran for more than 5 minutes in my life (not because of CF, mostly because I'm lazy and hate running). Yikes.

I hate running too! When I started my running journey many years ago, I couldn't run for more than 30 seconds. It was frankly 30 seconds of the worst feeling ever. But, I stuck with a similar program and got to a point that I could run for over an hour. You can do it!!!
Thanks for the encouragement.

Just an update: I'm running. After 2 years of nothing, I'm running! I've been running every other day for a couple weeks and today I was able to run 2.1 miles without a break and I'm feeling pretty great...sore albeit, but pretty proud of myself.

Lastly, I'm signed up to run my first 5k in in 3 weeks.

I've been following your blog for about a year and finally I've been inspired enough to make some changes. So, thank you!
That's amazing!! Your progress is outstanding and inspiring :)

Please let me know how your 5k goes. If you'd like to write about your experience here, I'd love to have it!!
I appreciate your offer and am honored; I know your sphere of influence is vast! Maybe when the summer comes to a close I'll get back with you about writing so I have a little more to say, besides just how sore I've become ;)

Mandi's words regarding how our body adapts to the pressures we put on it, have played a part in this journey and encouraged me to push myself! That being said, my husband and I have been training/supporting each other in this endeavor. We plan to do several 5k this summer and work toward 10k next year....baby steps...
I'll be looking forward to the close of summer then ;)

So great to have that support system!! Mandi definitely keeps me going when I don't have the will to go it alone.
Ronnie, your schedule says "Repeat 3" just to clarify that means repeat the walk-8 run-.5, three times. yes?

Yup! Walk 8 minutes, run for 30 seconds. Walk 8 minutes, run for 30 seconds. Walk 8 minutes, run for 30 seconds.
