Video Explanation of Manual CPT

Here is a video from Christina over at Nathan's Fight. She goes through (in hyper speed) what a typical treatment for little Nathan looks like. If you haven't been able to check out her blog, make sure to do so, it's definitely one of my favorites.

I love "stay above the organs!!" ... Were you ever in the hospital and the RT is watching tv while doing CPT and accidentally hits the kidney or your spine?! Youch!!!
Thank you for this! I really appreciate it and so will Josephine! I will watch tomorrow when I have time.
although the ease of the vest can not be denied, i will say that manual chest pt really does seem more effective (if done correctly), like you said, especially on the lower lobes. i do remember how freeing (for everyone involved) it was when the vest came on the scene. on a side note, what i have found to actually produce the most is the accapella, or whatever that huffer thing is called.

anyway, great to see you on video. you crack me up. i am telling you, you need to be like the cf spokesman of the universe. you rock.

We're all in trouble if I'm the "CF spokesman of the universe" :)
Fantastic video! I'm sure Dan has told you that we have still not introduced The Vest. Sam's doctor decided not to give it to her at 2 when she was cool with it, and now she is frightened to death! It's made me worry at times that she's not getting the very best treatment possible, so this is extremely encouraging!
Thanks for posting! Couple questions for you- Where do you get the "wedge pillow" that you talked about? Also, I didn't know an infant or toddler can use a pacifer during the nebulizer. Do they just breathe through their nose then and still get all the medicine ok?

You know, the best way to find a wedge pillow would probably be to google it. I haven't seen one since I was about 20 :) If the toddler has the full face mask on I don't see why they couldn't have a pacifier in if it gets them to hold still. Something to ask the doctor though!
