The First Day Back!!!

Well, it's my first day back...and it feels like my first day back :) I always have this same sort of "foggy" feeling when I first get out of The Hole.

So am I the only one? Do any of you feel a little "off" when you first get out of the Hole? If so, what does it feel like?

I am a CF mom and I feel the foggy feeling when my son get's out. I hate trying to get back into the swing of things. Everything was moving while I was standing still in a hospital room. It can be really rough on me.
I can't say how it is for my daughter besides that she happy to be home and she does tend to lay around the first day home when we are in clum med the schedule is about the same but treatments every 4 hours and they don't bug her once she is asleep at night they just come in to do Iv meds if it's time. but as a parent that is there with here when she is in club med I know when I get home I feel like I am over whelmed it's like I am busy doing one thing or the other and that may be because the nurses come in at do it why she in club med. It does take me about 5 days to get back to our norma routine.
yay! congrats and welcome home! enjoy and take care of those clean and tidy lungs!
Speaking from a cf mom point of view only...i HATE the first day home!!! it's IV's being delivered, home health wanting to come over to see him and check his vitals, it's NO groceries in the house, it is cancelling and rescheduling upcoming or missed appts while in the hospital...on and on and on, but....by day two...phew the relief finally sets in!!!!
Soooo glad to hear you were sprung! That is excellent news! I, too, feel kind of OUT OF IT the first day or two home, but it doesn't last more than that. I usually am sooo happy to be out of there and out with the "living" that I take the first day off....doing things around the house, like laundry and cooking (if there is anything left in the house).. and then the next day go to the grocery store to STOCK UP again! It's such a nice feeling to be able to cook my own meals, sleep in my own bed and have my hubby and doggies (I have three long haired dachshunds) following me around and happy that I am home! WHAT a relief and I usually feel VERY VERY good.... like the "elephant is FINALLY off of my chest" and I can breathe.
Merry Christmas... and get out there RUNNING, sick boy! LOL! XO Trish (Thanks for all you do and all the updates! I am SURE you are helping lots and lots of CFers!)

I hear ya!! I pretty much do the same thing :)

And don't worry about this Sickboy running, you know darn right I'll be hitting the streets!!!!
Oh... nice shave and a haircut, too! :-)
I find it very interesting that the CF moms feel the same way I do...it just goes to show you that CF doesn't just affect the CFer :)
I always experience culture shock, for lack of a better term. I am amazed at the cars, the buildings... it's like it is all new again even though I looked at it through my window for weeks.
I just got out today myself. I'm so amazed by having floor space and no interruptions! I feel foggy too, like I can't quite remember what it was I was doing before I left.
