My Top Ten Christmas Movies

One thing you'll notice about my Top Ten Christmas movie list is that I don't really list any of the "classics" except for maybe the National Lampoon's flick and Charlie Brown. You won't see, A Miracle On 34th Street, A Christmas Carol or A Christmas Story, but I have a very good reason: I've never seen them. You'll also notice that many of these aren't really "Christmas movies", but I do promise that Christmas was part of the movie one way or another.

10. The Family Stone- Don't remember a whole lot about this movie other than I thought it was pretty entertaining.

9. Ernest Saves Christmas- One of those goof ball movies I loved when I was younger. Not nearly as good as Ernest Goes to Camp.

8. A Charlie Brown Christmas- Watched it many many many many times around the holiday season...although it seems to be coming on earlier and earlier in the year.

7. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation- This is one of those movies you could watch everyday from now until the New Year and still get a good laugh from it.

6. Gremlins- I always wanted one of those little furry guys.

5. While You Were Sleeping- One of the best romantic comedies out there; full of cheesy and very predictable scenes.

4. Home Alone- I really shouldn't have to explain this one. I doubt that if you are reading this you'd question why. And if you are, please go rent it for the holidays.

3. Love Actually- This is actually one of my favorite movies ever (as well as #2 & #1). It had some questionable scenes, but it was a very fascinating movie.

2. Serendipity- My favorite romantic comedy ever. I've seen this movie 100 times (not really) and I still never really know if he'll get the girl.

1. Elf- If I were forced to watch this movie everyday until the day I died, I really don't think I'd be upset.

There you have it!! Alright, let's see your list! Let me know what I'm missing.

I was wondering if Love Actually was going to be on the list. Kudos! Thanks for reminding me of another of my favs, Serendipity. Have an awsome holiday! Love, Brends

Bridget Jones' Diary (not really Xmas but I love it anyway)

Oh my goodness...how could I have forgotten A Christmas Story??? Forget the PFT's...you'll be laughing so hard that the movie itself will count for a week's worth of chest physiotherapy. ITS HILARIOUS!!!

Now, where did I last see that Red Rider BB Gun???
My neighbors have the leg lamp in their front window and it cracks me up every time I see it!
Mine do too, are you my neighbor??? I almost died when I saw this post... LOL!
Yes! Serendipity is one of my favorite "christmas movies. OK actually, it's one of my all time favorite movies. Love it!
Elf and Love Actually would definitely be my top two. In fact, I should go see if we have Elf...

I would have to strongly agree with Love actually, ELF, The Family Stone, Christmas Vacation, and Charlie BUT.....I take personal offense to you not seeing A Christmas Story. It's a freaking classic and (might I add) that my family is in the movie!! My maiden name is Bumpus and the Bumpuses are the next door neighbors in the flick. My grandpa actually lived next to the guy that wrote the screenplay :). You have to see it!

Thank you kelly, you are too kind! And thanks for getting my back about the movie ;). Have a very Merry Christmas!
Elf is my #1 favorite Christmas movie too!!!
I agree, could watch that everyday and not get sick of it...I laugh at every part even though I know its coming :). Good list!
A Christmas Story, also The Grinch with Jim Carey , Serendipity and A Wonderful Life. Merry Christmas Ronnie and Mandi!!!
My favs are Scrooged and Th Ref (a little crass but hilarious). I also cannot believe you have not seen a A Christmas Story. I was subjected to watch it almost every year in school K-12 before break!
YOU'VE GOT TO SEE SOME OF THOSE CLASSICS. Some of my favs are White Christmas, Bells of St. Mary's, Going My Way, if you cry easily just have a tissue box nearby. New Christmas movies I love are Red Shoes, and Ebby a modern Scronge movie. Both tear jerkers too. I could list a hundred or more but I'd never get to bed. But try some of these, they're great. Hope you and your family all have a Merry Christmas.
Ronnie, I'd like a movie review of A Christmas Story once you're done with it ;-)
