hey ronnie!

I've been following your blog a while and watching all your videos recently, so I'm glad to hear your run was successful :) having run a 10k recently myself, I can totally understand where you're coming from with your feelings towards running, but know equally how satisfying it is to be able to get strength and fitness up (pushing myself to the limit when I started lasted a whole 2 minutes).

I really hope the bleeding stays away and you can get as much running done as possible now. Glad you're feeling better! x

Thanks Ruth!!! Way to go on the 10k!
Ronnie

When you run does your head feel like its going to explode? Like you can feel it throbbing and get a headache? It happens to me, which makes me not want to run because it hurts so bad. Wondering if it is my CF? I haven't really looked into it wondering if you have any thoughts on it.

Good job on the RUN!!!

Have you had an exercise oximetry done? Maybe your O2 saturation is dropping too much when you're running?
I have to agree with Ronnie here. My sats drop into the low 80's if I run without o2. I get dizzy, nauseas, headache and I feel like my head is going to explode. That's why I run with o2 on my back. (I run outside, not on a treadmill) I have a small tank that fits in a camel bak type backpack.
Ah, Ronnie this is great! I just started jogging yesterday, and really really want to keep doing it! I'm at 44% right now and hope that sticking to this will bring them up even more! I'm glad I watched this today, gives me so inspiration. I plan on going for my second jog here in a couple hours!!

That's awesome! Just an FYI, when I started to run consistently I was at 50% and I am now at around 75 after 18 months. I TRULY believe that running increases lung function.
Ronnie!! That was one of the most inspirational videos/blogs I have ever seen. I had a HUGE wake up call a few years back that got my butt into gear with doing all my treatments and meds regularly but I am having such a hard time getting myself running. I know it will help me but I hate it so much. But seeing how much you do hate it but you still make yourself do it really helps. Tomorrow I will hit the gym after class then Friday I will get up and run outside while it's still warm enough to, hopefully. I am hoping once I get in the habit it will get a little bit easier.

Love to hear that! Kick some booty at the gym today :)
Ronnie, I will have to say that because of you I have consistently been working out and I feel so much better overall. I haven't had PFT's since my last visit, and my next visit is in one month. It is because of you that I have the hope that my numbers will increase...and that is part of my motivation to keep on working out. You really are an inspiration to all of us with lung issues. Good luck to you and your runs!

I'm smile ear-to-ear Rebecca! I started this site just like people for you...and me :)
Ronnie, I am taking this challenge with you and I will run today too :) I could use an FEV1 and energy increase!
