Flash Me Friday - "My Favorite (hospital) Dish"

This week's addition of Flash Me Friday calls for pictures of our favorite "dish". It's kind of hard to pick a favorite dish while I'm here in the Hole, so I decided to take some pictures of any sort of food laying around my room. I did have a breakfast burrito this morning courtesy of the peeps from fantastic food services, but I forgot to snap a picture of it. The food here honestly isn't that bad, it just gets a little much after eating it for a month straight. You can only have chicken tenders so many times you know?


This is what you would call a smorgasbord of goodies.


Gotta have your own coffee pot here in the Hole. Also, having sparkling cider left over from hospital date night doesn't hurt :)

I was actually going to ask about the food there. The food at my hospital is TERRIBLE... seriously inedible! I'm not a picky eater at all. In fact, food is my passion! But without fail, I lose about a pound a day when I'm in (at home, I maintain my weight fairly easily). Last year I stayed for 13 days and lost 13 pounds, last month I stayed for 4 days and lost 5 pounds. My doctors are never happy about this, but even with all the goodies I snack on I just can't seem to hang on to the pounds. So, it's great that your menu just gets boring and not necessarily vomit-inducing. ;) Hope you're doing well and feeling great!

I had chili cheese fries and Resses Peanut Butter cup pie from the cafeteria for lunch today! I think they are trying to get me sent over to the heart center...or the bariatric treatment center...

Coffee pot in hospital room? Sheer genius! I see you are as hard core about coffee as I am. Only problem is, when I am sick enough to be inpatient, I usually don't really crave coffee like I normally do. Not sure why that is, but my body probably appreciates the extra hydration.

I have my teeny tiny coffee pot plugged up too! LOL Nothing like "homemade" coffee compared to the hospital coffee. I hope you are feeling better! I know the antibiotics are working for me! I have been in since Wednesday, and already feel a million times better! On a food related note: I get to have steak dinners this hospital stay! I have been going to the same hospital for almost 20 years and now they decide to tell me that they have steak dinners for they CF patients. *smh* I had to suffer from chicken strips and cheeseburgers for that long before I got the news?!? Geez. Lol!
