At-Home Workout Challenge

Thank you to all who participated in the Hospital Exercise Challenge! It was such a success and I got so much great feedback, that I wanted to be sure to continue a little something at home. Here's the problem though, I'm not exactly sure what to do.

I need some ideas. What would be most helpful to you guys? Should I design a workout that I feel would be beneficial? Should I just report each day what I do and then you guys can try to match? I want to do whatever you guys feel would help the most. I'm down for whatever!!

If your curious, my workout today was...

50 leg squats on Smith machine
50 box jumps on 24" box
50 V-ups
50 pushups
50 pull-ups
50 barbell shoulder presses

I try to do all of those exercises as at quick of a pace as I can so it is not only an great muscle builder, but also a great lung workout. I'm huffing and puffing pretty much the whole way through, but it feels SO GREAT when it's all said and done.

Think you can match that today?

Wow!! That's a pretty good workout! Nope, can't match it, but will do as much as I can :) Glad you're back home!

Let me know what you end up doing and how best to organize this challenge :)
i've been into walking/cycling at the gym since december. I find that i can make it there about every other day consistently. the day before yesterday I did 3 miles walking and 2 miles cycling. I'm going to try to do 3 and 3 today as i'm inspired by all of this fitness challenge talk (even if it's not usually my style).

Very nice Mary!! 3 and 3 would be outstanding. Great job being consistent since December. That's big time!!!
Hey, I'm thinking we should all just post what we do each day...not to foster competition or comparison, but just to provide motivation and ideas. Clearly, you are a great inspiration for tons of people. We can all get support and inspiration from each other, no?

I agree with you there Julie!! I'm thinking about what the best forum would be.
Maybe do a starter program for some cfer's to build their strength and endurance. ie.) something like the "Couch to 5k" program but include some weight oriented exercises like the wall sits/pushups/situps. I even think skipping/jumping jacks could be beneficial.

That's a good idea Mat. I may have to come up with something!
I like the way you insist to get up and exercise...yes it is very useful and necessary for the body. Our sedentary lives are causing a lot of problems and health issues these days.,
