My Belly's Shrinking?

We are 18 weeks today! So little peanut is about the length of a bell pepper. We haven’t posted belly shots in a while, so here they are. For some reason my belly actually looks like it’s shrinking in some of the photos, but I’ll just blame the photographer (cough, cough, RONNIE). I swear, it’s getting bigger and my jeans are finally getting pretty uncomfortable…but the rubber band trick is still working – except for the fact I have a major muffin top all the way around because they’re just simply too tight. The muffin top could also have something to do with the 9 pounds I've gained to date (no idea where my weight gain is supposed to be at this point, I'm just trying to hit my goal of keeping it to 10lbs at 20 weeks...we'll see). I think it’s getting to be time for some maternity pants, but I’m cheap, so I’m putting it off!

What do you think? Is it looking bigger to you? When do you think I’ll officially “pop”?

YOUR belly is very cute! most people don't "pop" until the 7th or 8th month, and you had great abs starting out so you may take longer :)

I think your belly looks adorable:) You are so lucky to be 18 weeks and not be in maternity pants yet! I suspect it will be different story the next time around. And to your post the other day about feeling Peanut, it definitely sounds exactly what I felt with my kids. It is an amazing feeling having that little person moving around in your belly. Definitely my favorite part of pregnancy. So happy for you guys.
I have two rules about maternity pants.

Buy early! and Wear often!

Once you go maternity, it's hard to go back. I'm serious. Go treat yourself! I enjoyed the "underbelly" style the whole 38 weeks with twins. I didn't gain any weight anywhere except the belly just grew and grew so it was a great style. We have similar body types so I recommend it for you too. That way you won't have to buy multiple styles/pairs throughout the pregnancy. Waaaaay back in 2004 it was really hard to find size XS though. Many companies just didn't stock it. I don't know how it is today. The only place I found them was Old Navy. So go out and buy yourself some jeans!

Thanks for the tip!! I'll have to check out that style for sure.
Mandi - When I was pregnant with each of my children, I think I only bought maybe 2 pairs of maternity pants. Since I was working in an office, I bought dress pants with elastic waist bands, and they worked really well throughout, plus I could still wear them after the babies were born and they were 'appropriate.' I gained 31 with my first and 36 with my second. I actually lost weight with both at first before gaining it back and then the additional 30ish. We're at 10w+2d with baby #3 and so far I'm down 6.5 lbs. For jeans, though, I got the maternity ones and really liked the ones that had the cotton 'belly pouch'. My go-to store for maternity? Definitely Target! I also LOVE their nursing tanktops!

Sounds like I'll have to check out Target! Thanks for the tips, Mindy!
several of my preggo friends swear by the BeBand - it's a wrap thing that basically wraps over your unbuttoned normal pants, and makes them wearable way past the rubber-band stage. They're like $20 at target.

Headed to Target ASAP. Thanks :)
no problem! I may or may not have considered getting one myself during the worst of my prednisone belly moments :o) (I never did - that's just a line that can't be crossed, hahaha).
